To keep you on the well-trodden path toward the perfect golden glow without the citrus tinge, we've got only the finest bronzers guaranteed to have your face and décolletage looking nice and natural. All tried and tested on pale olive skin, so they'll keep even the pastiest among you human-coloured.
Ahh, bronzer. It can really make or break a whole look, can't it? But before we even take a look at some of our fave products, there are a few cardinal rules every girl should know before being let loose with a bronzer:
- Make sure your face is completely dry before you attempt to apply a powder bronzer. Wait at least 10 minutes after moisturing, and even dust a little translucent powder on your skin just to make sure the bronzer doesn't 'stick' to certain parts and come up all streaky.
- Only ever use a big, fluffy powder blush to apply powder bronzer. Swirl into the compact and tap lightly before applying to your face. This will help to spread the colour evenly, and stop you from putting too much in one place.
- Bronzer is NOT an all-over face powder. That means it should only ever be used to highlight the parts of your face that would normally be 'kissed' by the sun. That means the temples, cheekbones and bridge of the nose. A light dusting on the neck and décolletage is ok too.
- To finish, use a clean powder brush to blend it all in once your done, and check your handiwork under some natural light to be sure. You can never be too careful!
- Going with a cream bronzer? Work quickly and blend, blend, blend. Just don't blend after it dries or you'll end up with ghastly smudges.

| A nice, fine powder, Hoola is a cooler shade of bronze that will suit most girls. Cute packaging, but it can be hard to get it to work with proper blush. The brush included is ok for touch-ups, but it's more prop than professional. |
One of our absolute faves, this powder really does live up to it's name. Completely matte, this is the perfect daytime bronzer, and won't leave you sparkling like a fairy. The colour can be dark on some skin tones, so use a light hand when applying. |
Subtle, natural colour - one of the best cream bronzers we've had the pleasure of testing at the LetsShop.com office. Stays moist for a few seconds (so there's time to work it in), and dries to a smooth powder finish. |
| A truly beautiful bronzer. Finely milled, mineral ( so good for your skin!) and prettily embossed. Loses points here for the colour though. We'd recommend going for the lighter shade, as this one would be way too dark for most skin tones. |
And now we come to the shimmers. This pretty ModelCo bronzer should be used with care as it's quite a sparkly golden shade. That being said, it's perfect on the checks and décolletage for a night out! |
Sleek compact, with a lovely fine powder. A tad too bronze for a powder with shimmer (can appear very dark if applied incorrectly), but it'll work very well on olive-skinned/tanned girls looking for a great night-time look. |
