shoes & accessories fashion sandals socks shoes betts
It's long been considered a fashion faux pas, but socks with sandals have started to grace catwalks the world over, and (against all odds), it's become a hot look favoured by models, designers and the impossibly hip. Read on to dissect this scary new trend...
What? Don't look at us like that. We're not the ones who decided your dad's lounge-around-the-house footwear of choice should become a hot new trend, but while it's here, we're going to embrace it. It's not for the feint-hearted (and realistically better suited to the young'uns), but if you're going to take the plunge, here are a few tips: Keep socks slimline (no footy socks, obviously); ruched ankle styles or interesting knee-highs work a treat; and stay away from striped, garish and brightly patterned socks if you're over 16 (which would be almost all of us). Oh and you need a solid heeled pair of shoes to balance out the schoolgirl factor. We're loving our top two styles (all under $100!) from betts.com.au. Happy experimenting...
