We know it's a little unfair that as you age, you need to spend more time and money looking for the right products, but it really is true. You can still scrimp and save on some bits here and there, but your mainstays need to be top notch.

So to recreate this look, we'd start with a silky foundation powder (4). Just enough to even out skin tone, without having any sitting in cracks and fine lines.

An eyeshadow palette of beautiful plummy shades (3) to create the perfect subtle smoky eye next (black may be statement, but it's a very harsh look!), and two coats of volumising mascara (1) to open up your peepers.

A good quality tea-rose blush (2) will bring out your cheekbones, while a lipliner (6) and lippie (5) in complementing colours will set off your look and leave your eyes to do all the talking.
